OBJECTIVES
The general objective is to equip the student with the necessary knowledge and skills to enable them to:
- sketch their fashion designs clearly and to
- make a success of their position in the clothing industry
The specific objective is to equip the student with knowledge of, and where applicable, to develop the relevant skills and approaches relating to:
- Art elements and art principles and to apply them on their designs
- The basic principles of production/technical drawings and design sketches
- The sketching of ladies clothes and children clothes by making use of croquis
- The drawing of female figures and children’s figures
- The basic theoretical study of different sketches and basic letterwork and page layout

REQUIREMENTS FOR FASHION DRAWING
Each student must have the following:- Ring file for notes, Portfolio bag for projects (A2-size) Coloured cardboard for mounting of projects, Basic drawing and art materials such as pencils (2H, HB, 2B, 4B, 6B), eraser, ruler, water colour paint and poster paint (primary colours), brushes, black fineliner pen. Other mediums for example magic markers and pastels can be bought by students to start their own collection as funds become available.
